Complete Coach Information For Coach McPheeters

Rita McPheeters

Assistant Coach - Boys U18 Regional

Rita McPheeters moved to the DC area in 1991. She immediately started playing volleyball on various indoor and outdoor league teams, and in grass and sand tournaments, often playing on multiple teams during the same season. For several years, she also played on a USAV club team and was certified as a referee and scorekeeper. She has attended several clinics, including ones offered by George Mason and George Washington Universities. She spent a few seasons coaching boys’ and girls’ volleyball for a local youth club, with two of her teams winning first place in their age group. Until recently, she played weekly on a Women’s indoor league team and substituted for a Fairfax County co-ed team. She plans to rejoin her Women’s team after taking a break to deal with knee injuries. As you can see, volleyball is her passion, but she also enjoys cycling, hiking, organizing family vacations, and just being outdoors and staying active. She is married to Bart McPheeters and they have two children who also play on club and high school volleyball teams – which probably isn’t surprising since they learned to “pepper” shortly after learning to walk. Coach McPheeters is IMPACT certified and plans to enhance her coaching experience by fulfilling additional certification requirements. She is very excited to be coaching with BRYC this year and for the opportunity to work with such a great group of players.
